Founded in 1830 on the dramatic Isle of Skye, Talisker Distillery is one of Scotland’s most celebrated single malt producers — and the Talisker 18 Year Old is widely regarded as its finest expression. Aged for 18 years on Skye’s rugged coastline, this richly peated whisky carries the distillery’s signature peppery character in every sip.
Rarely seen as an independent bottling, Talisker holds a special place in whisky history — it was even the preferred dram of author Robert Louis Stevenson, who once called it “the king of drinks.” For whisky enthusiasts, the 18 Year Old represents a perfectly matured balance of fruit, smoke, and coastal depth.
Nose: Rich and fruity with Victoria plums, dried orange peel, butterscotch, and a gentle waft of smoke.
Palate: Opens sweet before growing more assertive — notes of smoke, coal-tar, and toffee develop beautifully with time in the glass.
Finish: Medium length with Talisker’s trademark warming chilli ‘catch’ — a signature finish that lingers long after the last sip.
